Strava vs. Samsung Health

Strava vs. Samsung Health

If you’re looking for a good fitness app to help you stay on top of your goals, you’ve come to the right place.

In this article, we’ve covered Strava vs. Samsung Health, two well-liked fitness apps.

  • Strava is a fitness app that focuses on the main features.
  • Samsung Health is a fully-featured app that covers your steps, food, water, sleep, and overall fitness.
  • Both apps have challenges, and both offer to collaborate.

What are both

Strava App
Strava App

Strava is a fitness app to track your workouts. It claims to be the number one app for runners, bikers, and athletes in general.

The app offers free GPS activity monitoring and auto-generated and custom routes.

Over 30 activities can be tracked with this app, including running, riding, walking, hiking, and yoga.

All core features are available in the free version, but you need to upgrade to use the more sophisticated features.

What else is related: Samsung Health vs. Google Fit

Auto activity tracking

Strava does not track anything automatically. You must start the activity to let it follow. Samsung Health automatically tracks your steps and calculates the calorie data.

Step tracking

Samsung Health After Walk Data

During and after your workout, you find the map, total distance covered, elevation moving time, and speeds in both apps.

Samsung Health also shows total steps, pace, weather, and calories.

Step tracking accuracy

Both were accurate in terms of time, distance, speed, etc. The elevation part was slightly different, but looking at the data, I backed more Samsung Health.

Sleep tracking

Since Strava is primarily used as a fitness app, it does not track your sleep. However, some apps can be connected with Strava to calculate sleep timings and patterns.

Samsung Health uses the screen off time to calculate your sleeping time. For example, if you stop using your phone at 11 pm and then pick it up and use it at 7:30 am, the app will show those times.

You can record your data manually.

Samsung Health Together Screen
Samsung Health Together Screen

Strava supports inviting friends to exercise together. You can add friends by entering their emails, importing from your contacts, and connecting your Facebook account.

Also, friends can be added to each workout to record their time. Strava comes with the public, followers, and only you options for your activities to share your exercise with the appropriate audience.

Moreover, Strava Clubs are communities of athletes that businesses can use to create local and global networks of athletes.

These clubs can create content, plan events, share a route, support campaigns, and more.

Athletes can participate in challenges on Strava that take place over a few days, a week, or a month.

Samsung Health has a “Together” screen allowing you to exercise with friends.

Simply go to the Together page, sync your contacts, and search for the friends you want to work out with.

Samsung Health hosts global challenges sometimes, which you can join from this section.

  • Custom goals and personalized training plans

Which one’s for you

Strava is more for those who are serious about their health. If you want an app to stay in shape or reduce weight, Strava can be helpful.

Samsung Health is like a regular health app with more options than Strava.

If you are not too concerned about your health, you can install it and let it run in the background to see how many steps you walked, how many calories you consumed, etc.

This article looked at the key features of Samsung Health and Strava. We hope our Strava vs. Samsung Health comparison gives you a better understanding of those apps.
